I liked this huge contrast between the two meanings and realised what they had in common was an element of balance

Apart from the yellow paper boat that I felt was the perfect symbol relating to the water (the blue and depression) but also keeping you afloat

The colors of the traditional landscape have been pulled out of the scene and placed as block palette colors on the piece

This is a piece in her series Chasing Sun and it represents that cozy space around the fire where everyone comes together and everything slows down and invites reflection and relaxation
